Beautiful and Ride that is easy that in Spokane. New Asphalt past mile eight
The Fish Lake Trail is a somewhat brief, beautifully maintained multi-use course, ideal for cycling. We highly recommend it. It is the unofficial north part of the Columbia Plateau Trail. It begins in Spokane simply off western Sunset Blvd, nearby the intersection people 195 and I-90. Re Re Search Bing maps for «Fish Lake Trailhead» and it also will pop right up. Parking is abundant.
The path heads south and southwest in direction of Chaney, approximately after the Spokane-Chaney path. The path crosses I-90 on a trestle, parallels US 195 for an extremely distance that is short
Great path
Nearly ten kilometers of paved path produces a great ride. The Fish Lake Trailhead in the north end has parking that is amplewith overflow parking available regarding the street), restrooms, and water fountains. Heading south after that, the trail gently rises around 1600 ft on the ten miles (roughly 3% grade, an average of) which makes it a simple trip. The southern half it gives scenery that is amazing the path turns eastern and follows the Cheney-Spokane path through the valley. It presently (June 2015) comes to an end in the southern end of Queen Lucas Lake. I am hopeful for the BNSF that is remaining property be obtained plus the trail in order to connect because of the Columbia Plateau Trail.
